Tufted pair of low slung Mid Century Modern lounge chairs by Ludvik Volak for Drevopodnik Holesov, made in Czechoslovakia, c. 1960’s.  The chairs feature sculptural bentwood bases and original caramel-toned vinyl upholstery. Designed with clean architectural lines and a distinctly modern silhouette, each chair sits on a laminated birch frame with elegant sled style legs secured with exposed brass-tone hardware. Nice vintage condition with wear from age and use; the back of one chair has some discolorations, as pictured; one chair is more matte in color so they are not an exact match but difficult to note the difference.
