Mid Century Modern secretary desk / bar designed by František Mezuláník for the renowned Czech manufacturer UP Závody, showcasing the clean lines, refined proportions, and thoughtful functionality characteristic of the modernist Czech design movement of the era.  Expertly constructed in beech with a warm finish and gorgeous wood grains,  the cabinet features a distinctive drop-front tabletop that opens to reveal a spacious writing surface and an organized interior with shelving.  

The drop-front locks (2 keys included!) and is great as a pouring surface if you opt to use the upper cabinet as a bar. Three wide drawers display stunning book matched grain patterns and are accented with sculptural horizontal pulls. An open cubby between the writing compartment and the drawers offers an ideal spot for books, décor, or everyday essentials.  The piece stands on tall legs that elevate the form and emphasize its light, modern profile. 

Refinished tabletop (darker grains on top) and otherwise thoroughly cleaned and oiled with minimal wear; few small rings, as pictured, in open area. Its compact footprint makes it ideal for apartments, and would make a great entryway cabinet or multi-functional piece in a living or dining room.
