Mid Century Modern with an art deco vibe, this desk by Simmons Furniture Company, c. 1950’s embodies the Machine Age aesthetic of the period. Loads of design details - robust steel construction in a smooth pale cream enamel finish, polished aluminum trim, and curved “half-moon” drawer pulls with amber-colored bakelite buttons. The desk features a single full width drawer over an open knee space, with side panels that extend the full depth, giving a monolithic, architectural presence. Nice vintage condition with wear from age and use, including soiling to interior of drawer. The drawer works smoothly and retains the original manufacturer’s badge. Ideal as a compact workspace for a home office or as a console table in an entryway. Chair is not included.
